The Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OB/GYN) is a licensed physician specializing in women’s reproductive health, including prenatal and postnatal care, and disorders of the reproductive system. This role involves providing preventive care, diagnosing and treating gynecological conditions, managing pregnancies. The OB/GYN works collaboratively with other healthcare professional to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in outpatient settings.
Responsibilities
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
· Provide comprehensive obstetric care, including prenatal visits, and postpartum care.
· Diagnose and treat disorders related to the female reproductive system (e.g., menstrual disorder, infertility, infections, and cancers).
· Conduct routine and diagnostic examinations including Pap smears, pelvic exams, and breast exams.
· Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
· Educate patients on reproductive health, family planning, and preventive care.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with legal and institutional requirements.
· Participate in on-call rotations.
· Stay current with medical advances and best practices in women’s health through continuing education and professional development.

Skills & Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· In-depth knowledge of obstetric and gynecological principles, practices, and procedures.
· Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
· Strong organizational and documentation skills. · Compassionate bedside manner and cultural sensitivity.
· Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
· Completion of an accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology or Family Medicine.
· Board Certification or Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology (by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology or equivalent), American Academy of Family Practice
· Valid Texas state medical license.
· Minimum of 2–5 years of clinical experience preferred (residency experience may be considered).
· Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
