General Description:
The 340B Analyst monitors and verifies 340B eligibility determination, process expansion, and ongoing program oversight and plays a key role in ensuring that appropriate documentation is collected within databases and the electronic health record. This individual works collaboratively with the pharmacy team, medical team and case management to monitor required documentation and complete routine audits.Specific Responsibilities of the Job:
1. 340b Eligibility Determination
- Collect and scan required medical documentation from external providers into the electronic medical record, as required to ensure program compliance
- Perform in-house pharmacy prescription audits and maintain appropriate program documentation.
- Ensures appropriate reporting, tracking and follow-up occurs after completing any audits.
- Use the electronic health record and pharmacy data to track and audit eligibility for the 340B program,
- Work with other Prism Health North Texas (“PHNTX”) staff to receive and maintain easily retrievable records of site eligibility and grant documentation when needed.
- Assist with Prism Health North Texas Pharmacy inventory systems to assure acquisition of medications, appropriate control, dispensing of medications, and reconciliation in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and best practices
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Pharmacy Officer and/or Director of 340b
2. Process Expansion
- Create and/or update 340B-related procedures for Equitas Health and train staff accordingly.
- Identify and utilize cultural and community resources. Establish and maintain relationships with identified service providers.
- Continue building knowledge of the healthcare and pharmacy services industry; use that knowledge to identify areas of improvement for the 340B Program
- Communicate with case management supervisors particularly regarding releases of information, and ongoing client enrollment and closures.
- Participate in other agency meetings as requested by supervisor including continuous quality improvement committee meetings.
3. Program Oversight
- Work closely with the Compliance Department, Chief Pharmacy Officer, Director of 340b, and Clinic Managers to ensure compliance with the 340B program.
- Review HRSA website and advise team of changes that may affect the organization
- Provide follow-up email and phone calls to PHNTX staff, provider offices, or other professionals as needed.
- Strive to consistently improve the overall efficacy, efficiency, value and compliance with the 340B Program.
- Regularly communicate with staff members involved in the 340B program to ensure efficiency, as well as to address problems or concerns in a prompt manner.

- Must be exceptionally organized and able to work independently.
- Ability to offer guidance to individuals involved in the 340B Program
- Strong attention to detail, spelling, and numerical differences
- Comfort in creating and editing spreadsheets in Excel and/or other databases required
- Ability to be flexible in work hours
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint), computers, email, web-based systems and electronic health records.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree, registered or certified pharmacy technician, LPN license OR medical assistance certificate required.
- Experience working in medical or pharmacy setting preferred.
- Experience with the 340B program preferred
- Quality assurance experience such as medical chart reviews or auditing preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare terminology.
