Position Summary:
The Lead Informatics & Analytics Developer is a senior hands-on healthcare analytics and informatics role responsible for stabilizing, developing, validating, and modernizing Prism Health North Texas' clinical, operational, financial, pharmacy, quality, grants, and executive reporting environment.
This role provides technical leadership and direct execution across:
- Snowflake-based data analysis and reporting
- SQL development and source-to-report validation
- Power BI dashboard development
- Power BI semantic model design
- DAX and Power Query development
- Healthcare reporting logic and KPI standardization.
- Report inventory, documentation, QA, and certification support
- Data governance and reporting maturity initiatives
The Lead Informatics & Analytics Developer serves as the primary technical execution lead for the Informatics function. This role is not intended to be a purely strategic, administrative, or supervisory position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly in the data, developing reports, troubleshooting discrepancies, validating logic, documenting lineage, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver accurate and actionable reporting.
This position works closely with the VP of Information Technology, Informatics & Analytics Analyst, HIM, Clinical Operations, Quality, Grants, Finance, Pharmacy, Revenue Cycle, IT, and executive stakeholders to improve reporting continuity, data integrity, and stakeholder confidence in Prism's analytics function.
Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports supporting clinical, operational, financial, pharmacy, quality, grants, and executive reporting needs.
- Serve as the lead developer for high-priority dashboards and analytics deliverables.
- Translate stakeholder needs into clear reporting requirements, technical specifications, data models, and validated dashboard outputs.
- Build reporting assets that support:
- Provider productivity
- Patient access
- Clinical quality measures o HRSA / UDS / grants reporting
- Pharmacy and 340B analytics
- Revenue cycle and payer mix reporting
- Executive scorecards
- Population health and health equity analytics
- Create reporting solutions that are usable, actionable, and appropriate for executive, operational, and departmental audiences.
- Reduce reliance on manual exports, one-off spreadsheets, inbox-based reporting, and fragile SharePoint or network-folder workflows where feasible.

- Use Snowflake as a primary reporting and analytics platform for querying, validating, and developing healthcare data assets.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries used for dashboards, recurring reports, validation, and data analysis.
- Work with AthenaOne /Data View / Snowflake data sources to support clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory reporting.
- Design and maintain reusable datasets, views, extracts, or reporting logic that reduce duplicate report development and inconsistent calculations.
- Understand and document source data structures related to patients, encounters, appointments, providers, locations, diagnoses, procedures, payers, orders, quality measures, prescriptions, and financial activity.
- Identify gaps in source data, joins, filters, logic, or refresh processes that create reporting discrepancies.
- Support maturation of the reporting environment toward more governed and reusable data models.
- Build and maintain Power BI semantic models that support consistent, scalable, and reusable enterprise reporting.
- Develop DAX measures that accurately reflect approved business logic.
- Use Power Query to clean, transform, and prepare data for reporting.
- Design data models using appropriate relationships, date tables, hierarchies, filters, measures, and reusable datasets.

- Improve Power BI maturity from disconnected dashboards and visualizations toward governed semantic models and certified datasets.
- Review and troubleshoot Power BI refresh failures, performance issues, relationship problems, DAX errors, and data mismatches.
- Lead source-to-report validation for high-priority reports and dashboards.
- Validate report outputs against source systems, AthenaOne reports, Snowflake queries,
- Power BI datasets, and business-owner expectations.

- Support report certification activities through the Data Governance Committee.
- Conduct root-cause analysis when reporting discrepancies arise and recommend corrective action.
- Support the Data Governance Committee by preparing reports, dashboards, metric definitions, and validation artifacts for review.
- Help establish and maintain standardized KPI definitions, reporting logic, and data documentation.
- Partner with business owners and data stewards to define and validate metrics across clinical, operational, financial, pharmacy, quality, and grants domains.
- Support development and maintenance of an enterprise KPI dictionary.

- Lead documentation efforts for critical reports, dashboards, datasets, data sources, refresh processes, and business logic.
- Maintain and improve the enterprise report and dashboard inventory in partnership with the Informatics & Analytics Analyst.
- Document report owners, business purpose, data sources, Snowflake objects, refresh frequency, distribution method, audience, and certification status.
- Create and maintain report runbooks for recurring reports and high-priority dashboards.
- Document manual reporting workflows involving AthenaOne exports, inbox delivery, SharePoint folders, network files, and spreadsheet manipulation.
- Establish source-to-report lineage for critical reports.
- Reduce reliance on tribal knowledge by creating repeatable, accurate, and accessible documentation.
- Support and develop reporting related to clinical operations, quality measures, CeM, UDS, HRSA, grants, population health, and health equity.
- Partner with Clinical Operations, Quality, Grants, HIM, and operational leaders to understand reporting needs and translate them into validated analytics outputs.
- Support validation of reports used for external, regulatory, grant-related, or executive facing purposes.
- Ensure sensitive and high-impact reports receive appropriate validation before distribution.
- Identify and resolve reporting discrepancies that could affect compliance, funding, quality performance, or leadership decision-making.
- Develop and support pharmacy and 340B reporting, including prescription volume, contract pharmacy activity, eligible encounter reporting, referral capture, exception reporting, revenue opportunity, leakage, and audit-readiness support.
- Partner with Pharmacy, Finance, Revenue Cycle, and operational stakeholders to validate pharmacy and 340B reporting logic.
- Support finance-related reporting, including payer mix, revenue cycle metrics, provider productivity, visit volume, cost and margin analysis, and service line performance.
- Work with business owners to confirm assumptions, calculations, and appropriate interpretation of finance and pharmacy reporting.
- Support reconciliation when reports do not align across systems, departments, or reporting tools.
- Lead requirements gathering for complex reporting and dashboard requests.
- Translate vague or broad stakeholder needs into actionable requirements, mockups, data requirements, validation plans, and deliverables.
- Support the Informatics intake and backlog prioritization process.
- Communicate timelines, blockers, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders.
- Provide service-oriented support while reinforcing standardized intake, governance, QA, and documentation practices.
- Serve as a trusted technical partner for operational and executive stakeholders.
- Provide technical direction, mentoring, and work review for the Informatics & Analytics Analyst.
- Review SQL queries, Power BI reports, documentation, QA outputs, and validation work produced by the analyst.
- Establish practical development standards for Power BI, SQL, documentation, validation, and report maintenance.
- Promote a culture of accuracy, responsiveness, documentation, and continuous improvement within the Informatics function.
- Identify fragile, manual, duplicative, or poorly documented reporting processes that should be improved, automated, or retired.
- Support the transition from reactive reporting support to a governed enterprise analytics function.
- Help mature Prism's use of Snowflake, Power BI, semantic models, DAX, Power Query, and future Microsoft Fabric capabilities.
- Support development of more reliable data pipelines, curated reporting layers, and reusable datasets where appropriate.
- Assist in roadmap activities related to data architecture, report certification, self-service reporting, and analytics governance.
