The clinic nurse develops a collaborative role with all medical providers and support staff in delivering patient care, administering treatments, triaging patients and recording patient encounters. The clinic nurse serves as a resource for patients to assist with managing referrals and any challenges related to their care including medication refills and access to needed services. The clinic nurse will be resource for the medical providers related to all matters involving care of their patients.

Responsibilities
- Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, departments and staff; collaborates with physician, management, and clinical staff to deliver quality care to patients.
- Completes documentation, meets current standards along with policies and procedures including documentation of all mandatory forms within the scope of the position.
- Oversees clinic workflow ensuring patient care in a timely manner, prevent procedure delays assuring continuation of service, and notifies manager or designee of any issues impacting patient flow in a timely manner for resolution development.
- Collaborates with patient to identify treatment plan goals; discharges patients as appropriate with written discharge plan. Encourages family participation as appropriate for age and situation.
- Assists with and provides input for reports, audits, surveys, and documentation in medical records, employee records, and computers.
- Delivers quality care to patients by using multi-disciplinary team strategies minimizing the risk of infection, harm, or injury and provides education directed towards identified knowledge deficits, treatment planning, and discharge utilizing the nursing process.
- Assists with coordination of the clinic specific orientation and training for employees, which may include, but is not limited to, initial unit-based, job specific competencies, CBLs and clinic specific testing.
- Participates in the performance improvement process within the agency.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Must have medical knowledge of HIV/AIDS, as well as sensitivity to PLWH.
- Strong verbal and written skills with health professionals, patients and their families.
- Ability to perform independently while working in an interdisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to develop and communicate appropriate educational materials for all levels of health literacy and preferred learning modalities.
- Knowledge of chronic conditions, medical and disease processes.
- Knowledge of the skills necessary to provide care of service appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Knowledge of office procedures, technology and equipment required to perform all manner of clerical, clinical and administrative work.
- Skill in critical thinking, relationship building prioritizing in a fast-paced environment and is responsive to community needs.
- Skill in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects.
- Skill in solving mathematic computations needed to accurately calculate medication dosages and assist with reports, collection, and data analysis.
- Ability to make assessments, draw conclusions, and make recommendations
- Ability to delegate tasks appropriately with consideration of staff licensure and competency.
- Ability to grasp new ideas, complete tasks with minimal supervision, prioritize, organize or reorganize work and manage time effectively and efficiently.
- Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing as a registered nurse (RN).
- 2 plus years work experience performing RN duties and responsibilities
- Bilingual preferred.
- Current licensure by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas or proof of reciprocity of licensure between the State of Texas and another state. Must be maintained throughout employment.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). Must be maintained throughout employment.
