General Descriptions:
This role is responsible for full cycle accounting and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial information. This experienced and hands on accountant will be responsible for work delegation and overseeing assigned Staff Accountants. The Senior responsibilities will include analysis, reconciliation of general ledger accounts for all assigned entities, recording complex journal entries and other tasks on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities of the Job:
  • Responsible for recording of daily company transactions to align with continuous accounting close process.
  • Asset management in ERP while complying with financial policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for researching and accurately applying chart of accounts properly to all assigned locations transactions with grantor compliance in mind.
  • Ensure proper cash application procedures are followed for all non-third-party deposits received.
  • Responsible for review of assigned general ledger accounts and timely account reconciliations.
  • Research and resolve various accounting issues and prepare management reports.
  • Ensure compliance in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to resolve any financial discrepancies or concerns.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for review by finance leads.
  • Compare and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement within your role.
  • Assist in preparation of budgets and forecast.
  • Support annual single audit and grant audit cycles.
  • Direct, oversee and support assigned staff accountant(s) responsibilities.
  • Manage special projects and produce necessary support schedules for any requested analysis.
  • Take initiative and ownership of task(s) without intervention that are effectively in scope of role.
  • Flexibility to take on other tasks as needed and adapt to an ever-evolving role

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Job Requirements:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and familiarity with financial statements.
  • You are a proactive team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the organization.
  • Advanced excel skills is required.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required and CPA designation is a plus.
  • Fund accounting experience or cost accounting experience is a plus.
  • Abila (MIP) software experience is a plus.
  • Healthcare experience is a plus.
